ScottCare has been a leading provider of telemetry products for cardiac rehabilitation facilities since 1989. Much like other companies looking to diversify their products base, ScottCare had a vision to expand their product base to include ECP to their existing telemetry customers around the U.S.
Our records at ExternalCounterpulsation.com indicate that ScottCare has not put forth a big distribution effort for their ECP products in the U.S. The distribution strength of Scottcare has been primarily to their existing telemetry customers in the Cardiac Rehabilitation facilities of small hospitals and aiming their ECP distribution efforts to the international market.
Product Options
Scottcare has introduced two products since their entry into the U.S External Counterpulsation Therapy marketplace.
- Scottcare Advantage introduced in 2004
- ViaCare ECP introducted in 2009.
Scottcare has demonstrated a different approach to delivering External Counterplsation Therapy by utilizing “active deflation” or vacuum deflation technology. This system is designed to remove air from the cuffs on each heart cycle with a vacuum pump. This idea sounds good in theory as it removed all residual air remaining in the cuffs but the competition says it generates excess heat and discomfort for the patient while not providing any additional proven clinical benefit to the patient.

ScottCare has most recently expanded their U.S product base to focus on products more geared towards their strength in their core Cardiac Rehab related products.
