EECP Therapy and ECP Therapy can be confusing. Is there a difference? The answer is NO. There is NO difference between EECP Therapy and ECP therapy other than the name. Both acronyms are synonymous for the concept of “External Counterpulsation Therapy”.
The term to distinguish “enhanced” external counterpulsation may have been different at one time, but now the term for the process of external counterpulsation is one and the same. All ECP & EECP machines deliver approximately the same pressures gated (timed) on the patient “R Wave” or heart beat.
A good analogy would be like asking if there a major differences in the process of operating or driving a BMW versus a Mercedes? The clear answer is NO !! Sure there are differences in performance and operator preference, but ultimately driving the BMW or the Mercedes is no way like comparing driving a car versus riding a bicycle.. Both the Mercedes and BMW are excellent performing vehicles (cars) and it is more a matter of the driver than the actual car!! They both do the same thing!
