The ACS NCP-2 ECP Therapy System is the 2nd generation model ECP device introduced by Applied Cardiac Systems. This unit was a significant step forward for ACS in that it brought an much enhanced product to the market to compete with the Vasomedical TS-3. The ACS NCP-2 uses a Windows XP operating system with an automatic treatment report. Many of the user-interface improvements were big in the industry as all other units had no reporting capabilities. The therapist no longer has to calculate peak to peak ratios, make manual (by hand) notes, and the NCP-2 software records every beat minute by minute. All other systems only captured 8 second strips.
The ACS NCP-2 from has been a big seller in today’s market primarily due to the low price point compared to the competition.

- More tolerable sound on the NCP-2. We rate slightly better than average.
- System Reliability (0.8)
- The reliability depends on if the NCP-2 was manufactured by the ACS/Nicore team or by ACS team. The ACS unit was improved in sound and reliability because the vacuum deflation was removed from the Nicore version which is surprisingly still used by Scottcare.
- Device Serviceability (0.8)
- Serviability is excellent but with a slight cost. The warranty cost is approx $5,000 per year
- COST !! (.7)
- The NCP-2 is priced lower than Vasomedical but a bit higher than Cardiomedics. Expect a used NCP-2 to cost around $30,000 from the ACS.
